If you have been following my personal storytelling thread on Substack, today’s conversation with Catherine Brophy will be a real treat.
Catherine is a brilliant storyteller with a particular gift for personal narrative. In this discussion, she shares how she crafts moments from her life into compelling stories, gives them voice, and explores how audiences reshape her tales—and how those stories, in turn, transform her.

Catherine encourages us all to keep sharing our stories. She especially invites immigrants like myself to speak about our roots, our cultures, and our journeys of integration into new homelands.
Recently, Catherine created a one-woman show, ‘A Fortunate Life’, weaving her personal story with Ireland’s evolving history. I highly recommend seeing her live — she is a star. Catherine will perform her one-woman show at the Yarn Storytelling Festival on 12 November. To learn more about her work, visit here.
